David Wojahn is the author of nine collections of poetry, including three from University of Pittsburgh Press: For the Scribe (2017); World Tree (2011), which received the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets, the Library of Virginia Literary Award in Poetry, and the Poets’ Prize; and Interrogation Palace: New and Selected Poems 1982–2004 (2006), a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and winner of the O.B. Hardison, Jr. Poetry Prize from the Folger Shakespeare Library. Wojahn has also produced two books of essays on contemporary poetry, most recently From the Valley of Making (University of Michigan Press, 2015). A John Simon Guggenheim fellow, he has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, the Carole Weinstein Prize in Poetry, and an Amy Lowell Poetry Travelling Scholarship, among others. He is professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University and faculty member of the MFA program at the Vermont College of the Fine Arts.
Clint McCown is the author of four novels, most recently Haints (New Rivers Press, 2012). His other novels include The Weather Man (Graywolf Press, 2004), War Memorials (2000), and The Member-Guest (Doubleday, 1995), as well as three books of poetry. He has been nominated three times for the Pulitzer Prize and has won the American Fiction Prize twice from New Rivers Press. His other awards include the Society of Midland Authors Award, the Sister Mariella Gable Award, and a Germaine Bree Book Award, among others. He has worked as a screenwriter for Warner Bros., a creative consultant for HBO, an actor with the National Shakespeare Company, and as a broadcast journalist, for which he received an Associated Press Award for Documentary Excellence. McCown received his MFA from Indiana University, where he served as editor of Indiana Review . He was founding editor and publisher of Beloit Fiction Journal which he published for twenty years, and currently teaches in the MFA program at Virginia Commonwealth University.

He has received numerous honors and awards: from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and the Virginia, Illinois, and Indiana Councils for the Arts, among others. Wojahn has taught at a number of institutions, among them Indiana University, the University of Alabama, the University of Chicago, the University of Houston, and the University of New Orleans. He is the director of the MFA program at Virginia Commonwealth University and is also a member of the MFA faculty at Vermont College of Fine Arts.
